the arrival and advances of maden

so madden 07 has come out and i made a stop to get my copy today. i feel like a little kid when it comes to this game. madden is the only game that i play and i don't know that i will ever give it up.

every year the graphics get better and they throw one more way to make the game a little harder to play. last year it was the quarterbacks vision of the field. this year they allow you to control the fullback as you also run behind him. like all of this isn't hard enough while drinking 15 beers. i'm not sure if we really like to play the game or if louie and i just need another reason to drink some beers. either way it's fun.

amazingly, i read that video games bring in more money than hollywood each year. madden alone made $300 million in 06. just think, the fat guy gets $1 for each copy sold and the nfl gets $10. not a bad deal for mr. madden.

would you have ever thought that video games would have come as far as they have, when you were playing pong? member the countless hour sitting front of the television watching a small square bounce back and forth between two lines. we then were blessed with games such as intelevision, atari, and then jordan vs. bird on the commodor 64. now we have games that if it weren't for all the wires hanging from the tv some may think they were watching a real game.

they have come a long way and i can't even imagine where they will be in the future. all i know is i will be anxiously awaiting the day that i can strap on the head gear, crawl inside the huddle, and take a snap from big fraley while playing some type of virtual madden. think the day will ever come?
