lack of blogging, work, and the weekend

i haven't really been in a blogging mood lately, i've had a lot on my mind and have found it much easier to do thoughtless things in my spare time. some of the bs was cleared last week when the custody crap finally came to an end. the judge made her decision and b will be living with me permanently. now if i can settle a few other things, maybe i could blog a lot more. who am i kidding!

as both of you know, i made a career change last year this time. so far things have gone very good. i really lucked out and took a job with a great company that seems to have a lot of growth in the future. even though it seemed to be a good move, i had my worries of it not working out. the main reason was, i had worked for myself for so long calling all the shots and making all the decisions, now all that was changed. luckily it all worked out and wasn't as hard to get used to as i had thought. it actually wound up be a much less stressful move and made life a little easier. all the things i felt could have been a problem, turned out not to be an issue.

like i mentioned, it has been a year now and things are starting to all fall in place. the only problem that i seem to be struggling with is the every day political crap that happens around the office. i guess that since i was working for myself and had a small company, none of this every came out.

i've found that if people could work together, help each other out, and pick up the slack for someone when they are down, things would run much smoother. instead, people can be difficult and make life and work much more difficult for everyone.

i understand that when you work with a bunch of people, you have to deal with all types of personalities, but i never thought this would be my biggest issue. i know many of you work with companies that have a lot of employees, so maybe you can help me on dealing with difficult people. i know that there are many different ways and every situation should be handled differently, but do i go right to the source and hope to solve it, accept the fact that's the way some people are, or bring it out and have it solved that way?

now on to the weekend. friday night i met up with a nice size crowd at champps for happy hour, before i headed over to play some poker. louie got the word out and we wound up having a decent turn out. i was only able to stay for two drinks, but in that time louie and i seemed to get into a heated discussion that turned into a sizable bet. can you believe he thinks he can beat me in a one lap race, on skates, once around the rink. i must say that he might, and i stress might, be a better skater, but the boy has the speed of a slug pulling a brick up a hill. game on beotch!

saturday night, brian rotch had a 30th birthday party and we wound up staying there to the wee hours of the morning. not that that is surprising to anyone knowing that crowd. its been a long time since i've seen some of them and it's always a good time hanging with mr and mrs rotch.

sunday, i hung out with louie and bobby, then came home ate a good beef stew dinner and fell asleep for a little while. now here i am at 1 am blogging, having to get up in 4 hours.

No offense to Louie but I have seen both of you skate. I think you blow him away if you don't fall down or run into a wall. Louie is more of a Michelle Kwan than an Apolo Anton Ohno.

I worked for the Postal Service for 30 years, working with others is very challenging, my best advise would be to buy a gun, it works for most postal employees and has been proven to be very effective.

chaos- thanks for your support, not that this is a hard one to figure out. i may just show up in a spandex speed skaters outfit, with th eyellow shades. imagine the intimidation factor.

tbone- i don't know what scares me more, the fact that you may really mean this or that you are getting a sense of humor.

Just to let you bitches know, there are 4 turns in this race... good luck Papple! Even if you are a faster skater, you can't stop, turn or skate backwards... you wanted the race and you got it!

As for the corporate political BS... there is no escaping it! Just cover your ass at all times if you go head to head with someone!

johnny weir-i have no worries! with your speed, i can miss all four turns, run into the boards, fall down, get back up, and take a week worth of lessons before skating backwards across the finish line, still beating your ass.

No offense Chaos, but comparing Michelle Kwan to Louie gave me a visual I never want to see again. He just can't pull off the figure skating skirt, although it would probably get Papple to skate into the wall a few times. However, if you were going for the Louie skates like Michelle Kwan with a pulled groin, then that was a great cheap shot!
