porky pointing the way

alright, today i was driving to an appointment and as usual in true papple form, i was running right on time. so much on time that if i happened to run into a construction zone that all of the traffic was being controlled by a clueless cop, i may be a little late.

now we all know that i have a few cops in the family and have a few others as friends, so without waging war i need to vent. i know that you guys love that our ex-governor christie whitman passed a law requiring police officers to be posted at all construction zones, because this gives you guys tons of overtime. i agree that it is a good idea and does seem to help, but can we please pass a law that forced our men in blue to learn how to move traffic in a way that makes some kind of sense.
can we also teach them to put a smile on their face instead of looking at me and assuming i am some kind of dick that has no clue how to drive and follow instructions.

sure i know that your job is not easy and i do give you credit for having to deal with the constant crap of the world, but when in this situation can't you just put all that behind you and put on a happy face? maybe i'm just assuming that directing traffic is easy and everyone is as good a driver as i am. maybe i should realize that a lot of women travel through these sites and dealing with a woman behind the wheel on a daily basis must be enough to make any man miserable.

i was just thinking that it would be really cool to see a cop directing traffic and dancing around having fun while he was doing it; kind of how they used to do years ago. i know that wouldn't be all too macho, but who gives a shit. just think, your sitting in traffic for twenty minutes, when you finally get to the intersection only to find mj dancing around sending people on their way. i know i would wait the twenty minutes to see that.
